When you upgrade to a new QuickBooks Desktop, there are occasions when the Sync Manager will stop syncing. You will see a Sync Log that looks like this -- it just stops at Syncing Sales Reps.
There are several steps you need to take to resolve this.
Here are the details:
STEP 1: Log out of your QuickBooks and InvoiceASAP Sync Manager.
STEP 2: Open the Windows Explorer.
STEP 3: Select the C: Drive
STEP 4: Search "propelware" (no quotes).
STEP 5: You will get multiple files, you are interested only in the folders. You may have 1 or 2 folders.
STEP 6: Right-click and select the Delete option to delete the first folder.
STEP 7: Follow the same steps to delete the 2nd folder.
STEP 8: After both folders are delete, click on the C: drive again.
STEP 9: Select View from the top menu
STEP 10: Click on the "Hidden Files" checkbox on the View menu, and you will see a ProgramData folder display. Double-click on ProgramData.
STEP 11: Double-click on INTUIT folder.
STEP 12: Double-Click on QuickBooks folder.
STEP 13: The file we are looking for is called QBINSTANCEFINDER17.INI. It is in this folder.
STEP 14: Right-click on this file and select Open With Notepad.
STEP 15: After opening in Notepad, you will delete everything UNDER [QBINSTANCEFINDER].
STEP 16: [QBINSTANCEFINDER] should remain in the file.
STEP 17: Select File > Save.
STEP 17: Close the file.
STEP 18: Right-click on QuickBooks icon and select Properties
Step 19: Select the Compatibility tab, check "Run this program as administrator," and click OK.
STEP 20: Repeat step 18 & 19 for the InvoiceASAP icon
STEP 21: Open QuickBooks, then open the InvoiceASAP Sync Manager.
STEP 22: You should only see the Setup button. Click on Setup.
STEP 23: Reminders for getting connected to QuickBooks.
STEP 24: Enter your InvoiceASAP username & password to connect.
STEP 25: Set your Auto Sync preferences and click Done.
STEP 26: The sync starts running.
STEP 27: If the sync is successful, you'll see a smiley face.
