How to Accept Mobile & Web Payments with Square

It’s easy to link your InvoiceASAP account to Square.

Once setup, you’ll be able to:

  • Take swipe payments on your iOS mobile device (using their free Square Reader)

  • Display Square as a payment option on invoices for web payments

Premium feature: Upgrade to connect to Square

Using Square as a payment method is a premium feature that is only available to users on our Base, Plus or Biz plans. If you’re currently a free user and want to start accepting payments through Square, you can upgrade here.

Note: Square is only currently available on iOS 

1. Login to InvoiceASAP

Login to the InvoiceASAP Manage Account website ( > Login)




2. Click ‘My Payment Methods’


After you have logged into InvoiceASAP, click ‘My Payment Methods’ on the left.

3. Create a Square Account OR Connect an existing Square Account


On the ‘My Payment Methods’ page:

- If you have already set up other payment methods, here you'll see a list of all your current payment methods. Click on the '+' sign to create a new payment method.




- If you have not already set up other payment methods, you will see a drop down list of payment options. Select Square from the drop down.


If you don’t already have a Square account, click ‘Signup for Square’ and create an account.



If you do have a Square account, after selecting Square from the drop down list of payment options, hit ‘Save’.




After you hit ‘Save’ you will be redirected to the Square Log in page. Enter your credentials and sign in.




Square will then ask for your permission connect with InvoiceASAP. Select ‘Allow’. 

You’ll then be redirected back to the InvoiceASAP Manage Account website.





4. Download the latest version of InvoiceASAP in the Apple App store.

Finally, make sure you have the latest version of the iOS app installed on your mobile device which has Square integrated. 


Square’s credit card processing fees

For in-person transactions, Square charges 2.75% of the total amount per swipe. If the card details are entered manually, they charge 3.5% of the total amount plus $0.15 per transaction.

When a customer pays via an online web invoice, Square charges 2.90% +$0.30 per transaction.
